What appears to be original artwork for the dust-jacket. On board.25cm x 20cm. With note on rear ‘ Teddy Boys Picnic submitted by E Stucley. Artist : John Minton/ Sayer, 24 Hamilton Terrace. 4 Renderings/Final Proof 20gns. On account 347’ Another letterset note almost rubbed away states ‘ John Minton Design for Blond with D Sayer’
The book is complete and in good condition. Boards are in good condition but bumping noted on corners and spine ends and part fading in places. Binding is sound. Neatly written name in ffep. Pages are clean and secure Jacket design is a little soiled but remains bright. A scarce find with dust-jacket. The artwork is a bit of a mystery. The dust-jacket is nominated as by Sayer and yet does seem to be Mintonesque - which begs the question did they work together on the jacket design. Minton lived with Keith Vaughan at No 37 Hamilton Terrace and not at No 24. Sayer is not recorded as living ever in Hamilton Terrace. The artwork is not in a pristine condition but design is bright
